Child Development Centers are located on Patch Barracks, Kelley Barracks and Panzer Kaserne. CDCs offer full-day care for children ages six weeks through kindergarten.
The School Age Center (SAC) program serves as a bridge between child development and youth services. SAC provides safe after-school activities and study environments. Our programs are accredited by the Council on Accreditation. The school age staff receives training in adolescent growth and development so they are professionally equipped to interact with children in grades six through twelve.
Before and after school care and summer camps are offered on Panzer Kaserne and Patch Barracks. Kelley Barracks offers after school care and summer camps. Robinson Barracks currently offers after school care.
FCC offers small, multi-age group care in a nurturing, home environment. FCC offers a variety of home care options for children ages four weeks to 5th or 6th grade. Developmental learning experiences in FCC homes occur through natural daily activities. Providers use daily routines, planned curriculum and teachable moments to meet the varied needs and interests of children. FCC hours of operation tend to be more tailored to meet the needs of military families' schedules. In addition, FCC provides career opportunities for military spouses. Family Child Care providers also undergo intensive training and must be certified to qualify as providers.
To make sure we maintain high standards and quality service delivery at our CDCs, our centers must undergo a rigorous accreditation process by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. CDC programs provide rich and stimulating environments in which children develop motor, cognitive, social and emotional skills through a balance of exploration and planned curriculum. Learning activities are designed to support the natural development of children and include individual, small group and large group experiences.
Part Day Pre-School and Strong Beginnings
This program provides a variety of activities to assist children with school readiness. Emphasis is placed on technology, the arts, physical development (including both gross motor and fine motor development), math, science, and literacy. It also offers children an opportunity to socialize with other children while building readiness skills for school. All Part Day Preschools and Strong Beginnings follow the DoDDS calendar.
