If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The USAG Humphreys Education Center serves all US DoD military service members, family members, DA Civilians, and contractors of Area III for all voluntary education programs and services.
The Army Soldier is the primary beneficiary of all education program and services. Soldiers can obtain a college education via classroom and distance learning programs and earn an Associate's, Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in many academic fields or disciplines through ArmyIgnitED. All USFK affiliated customers have the opportunity to go to college and earn college degrees, certificates, and licenses on post. Financial assistance programs to include the Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB), Post 9/11 GI Bill, FAFSA, and state/school programs can be used to assist in reducing the cost of education programs.
Many educational programs and services are provided at Camp Humphreys Army Education Center Bldg. 657 to include Army Personnel Testing (DLAB, DLPT, OPI, AFCT, TABE SIFT), professional Army educational and academic guidance counseling for officer commissioning programs, OASC/GT improvement program, on-site colleges/universities, training classrooms, in/out processing assistance, multi-use learning facility (MLF) and ArmyIgnited account activation/updates. All testing requires an appointment. UMGC-Asia operates the National Test Center (NTC) for the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) internet-based testing (IBT), internet-based DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST) testing program, Pearson Vue, Microsoft Certifications, Automotive Service Excellence Exams (ASE), and monitoring of third-party exams. The USAG Humphreys Education Center offers on-site classroom and distance learning college courses both at the undergraduate and graduate level through the following universities: University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), Troy University (TU) and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). All customers are highly encouraged to use their education benefits, entitlements, or other means of funding higher education to continue their formal education to qualify for occupational, career, and academic advancement programs to meet their individual goals or aspirations. The professional Army counselors at Camp Humphreys Army Education Center are available for services Monday-Wednesday and Friday, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., and Thursday from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. on a walk-in basis.
The multi-use learning facility at USAG-Humphreys Education Center has 18 CAC enabled computers that can be used for educational, academic, and work-related purposes. The facility operation hours, Monday-Wednesday, and Friday, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Thursday from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. - Friday, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
