Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Family Child Care (FCC) is a professionally managed network of individuals providing child care in their government quarters. All FCC providers receive a minimum of 40 hours of training prior to certification. Training includes:
FCC quarters are inspected by Fire, Safety and Environmental Health personnel prior to provider certification. Providers receive on-going in-service training and their homes and programs are monitored on a regular basis. All providers are enrolled in the USDA food program and comply with their guidelines in providing nutritious meals.
FCC is a child care option for sponsors preferring a home atmosphere. Extended hourly care is available. Siblings can be in care in the same FCC home. Providers offer full-day and hourly care to children ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age.
All children must be centrally enrolled with the Child Development Center at Parent Central Services. Registration packets are available at 459 Bouquet Road, Carlisle Barracks. Patrons make registration appointments by calling 717-245-4555. If care is not immediately available, patrons requesting full-day care will be placed on a waiting list. Patrons will be offered a space in order of their eligibility and date of application. Hourly care is by reservation.
Moore Child Development Center, provides child care programs for children from six weeks through five years of age. Full day, hourly care, part-day Preschool program available. The Moore Child Development Center, located in Building 455, provides child care programs for children from six weeks through five years of age. The center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is DoD certified. All programs are designed to meet the social, emotional, and developmental needs of all children, regardless of the length of time they spend in the Center. A reasonable balance between active play and quiet activities is pursued as is a balance between indoor and outdoor activities. A food service program, under the auspices of USDA, provides balanced meals/snacks for all children in care.Hours of Operation

In addition to the full day and hourly care programs, the Center offers a part-day Preschool program to children ages three to five. Two classes are held during the school year (September through May). Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday classes are available, 8:15-11:15 a.m.Hourly care is by reservation on a space available basis.
Costs
Fees are determined according to total family income and are based on a sliding scale.
