A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
The Center is open to all eligible youth age 9-18 of the Dover community. This facility offers youth and teen recreation areas, gymnasium, dance room, TV room, computer room, game room, a snack bar and more.The center also offers a variety of daily activities and programs to include; 4-H, Boys & Girls Club, STEM, Photography, Cooking and Web design/Coding.The Youth Center is an extension of the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware. The Dover AFB Youth Programs are in collaboration with the local cooperative extension program and 4-H. For more information, please call 302-677-6376.
The Youth Center has a bulletin board available for listings of help wanted ads and for job postings. A Teen Job Fair is held annually in May to assist youth with employment opportunities. The Employment Assistance Manager at the Military and Family Readiness Center can assist youth of Active Duty members to obtain part time or summer employment.
Dynamic programs for youth ages 5 to 18 years are provided by Dover AFB. A wide variety of offerings includes activities in health and wellness, sports and recreation, the arts, education and career development, and leadership and service. Family programs are also offered such as, Month of the Military Child Activities, the Harvest Festival and Breakfast with Santa. Dover AFB Youth Programs collaborates with other youth-serving organizations, like the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and 4-H programs. The center's sports program includes basketball, spring and fall soccer, cheerleading and a summer-two-on-one basketball league.
Base Curfew
The teen curfew for Dover AFB is midnight seven days a week.
Driver's License
Drivers Education is provided at all public schools. Please go to the Motor Vehicles web site to research the requirements for obtaining a Graduated Driver's License For First Time Applicants Under Age 18. For detail information please contact Delaware DMV, https://www.dmv.de.gov/.
