Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
The Airman and Family Readiness Center at Dover Air Force Base provides services to all active-duty, retired and reserve personnel and their families from all branches of the service, including Department of Defense civilians. Services available include deployment support, employment assistance, information and referral, family life education, personal financial management, relocation assistance, volunteer resources and transition assistance.
The Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) provides an array of services to meet your moving needs, including relocation workshops that help you prepare for a move, and information on installations and communities worldwide. RAP also includes assistance with in-transit emergencies.
The Airman and Family Readiness Center works with other installation agencies to keep relocation information current, timely and relevant, which allows you to make informed decisions; ensuring your permanent change of station move is smooth and successful.
