Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. Goodfellow AFB CDC, 325-654-3239, offers the following programs:
The Goodfellow AFB Child Development Center is accredited through the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. There are closed circuit TV cameras in all rooms. The center participates in the USDA Food Program. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included in the fee. A lending library is available for age-appropriate toys and books. In addition, books and videos on child-rearing topics are available for parents to use.
Eligibility /Availability
The Goodfellow CDC is available for children of military, retired military and DOD civilians. Children ages 6 months through Pre-kindergarten are served at the CDC. When demand exceeds space availability, a waiting list is maintained and referrals are made to licensed family child care homes.
A reservation system is utilized for hourly care and reservations may be made up to 2 weeks in advance.Registration
Please visit https://militarychildcare.com to request child care. A current immunization record and birth certificate or proof of legal military or DOD dependency is required to enter the program.
Costs
Fees are subsidized with appropriated funds. Families are placed in one of 6 fee categories, based on total family income. Families will be asked to provide their most recent Leave and Earnings statement(s) and/or pay stubs. In accordance with federal guidelines, BAH or in-kind equivalent are added together with earnings to determine the fee category. Fees are reviewed annually in the Fall.
Hours of Operation - The CDC is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This program offers children from 5 years (in Kindergarten) to 12 years a wide variety of educational and entertaining experiences. The children are offered such activities as bowling, cooking, cheerleading, gardening and roller skating. The learning centers consist of arts and crafts, science exploration, reading and writing, Legos, board games and computer play. Transportation to and from some area schools is available - check with staff for most current information. Breakfast and snack are provided. Rates are based on family income. Before and After School care is offered on school days and full day care is offered on school breaks. The Child Development Center offers Give Parents A Break one Saturday or Friday per month for eligible families. The Child Development Center is also open one Saturday or Friday per month for "Parents' Night Out" - hourly fees apply.
