A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good. This program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.
Items (basic kitchenware, high chairs, iron/ironing boards, microwaves, coffee pots and alarm clocks) are available for temporary loan from the Loan Closet at the Military and Family Support Center on the Hickam side of Joint Base in Building 1105 on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment required. Please note: Due to coronavirus disease 2019, appointments are required. Linens (blankets, sheets, pillows, pillow cases, towels, and wash cloths) are not available.
The Loan Closet offers a variety of basic household items for loan while military members (Navy, Air Force and other branches working on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam) and their families going through a permanent change of station are in transition. These items are free and can be borrowed for up to 30 days.
During the high-peak PCS summer months (May through September), the Loan Closet will be available to members with travel orders. Permanent party, retirees, TD or traveling personnel will be eligible to borrow items on a space-available basis during this period.
The Loan Closet's hours of operation are Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; closed from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Please bring your military identification and one copy of orders. Please note: Due to coronavirus disease 2019, appointments are required, as the office is closed.
