Loan Closet Overview

A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good.  This  program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation. 

Subtopics

Items (basic kitchenware, iron/ironing boards, microwaves, and coffee pots) are available for temporary loan from the Loan Closet at the Military and Family Support Center on the Hickam side of Joint Base in Building 1105 on a first-come, first-served basis.  Appointments are Required. Linens (blankets, sheets, pillows, pillow cases, towels, and wash cloths) are not available.

Request you contact our Center at 808-474-1999 beforehand as we may have a waitlist for our loan closet items.

The Loan Closet offers a variety of basic household items for loan while military members Navy, Air Force and other branches working on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam and their families going through a permanent change of station are in transition. These items are free and can be borrowed for up to 30 days.

Request you contact our Center at 808-474-1999 beforehand as we may have a waitlist for our loan closet items.

During the high-peak PCS summer months May through September the Loan Closet will be available to members with travel orders. Permanent party, retirees, TD or traveling personnel will be eligible to borrow items on a space-available basis during this period.

The Loan Closet's hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. closed from 11 a.m. to noon. Please bring your military identification and one copy of orders. Please note:  Appointments are Required for Pick Up Only.  Appointments are not needed for return of Loan Closet Items.  However, returns are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
