When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
Be sure to keep your sponsor advised on your arrival status. Almost everyone will come in after hours, because of the time changes from the States. You will need to check in with your Squadron where it will be determined when, and at what time, you will need to report to work.
The 24-hour arrival point is Andersen Gateway Inns and Suites (billeting), 671-979-5501.
You will need to meet your sponsor, check into billeting, the dorms or TLF, then the next duty day report to your Squadron orderly room. Your orderly room will then set up additional appointments for you. Make sure to keep your sponsor informed of your arrival date (don't forget about the time differences) so that he/she is able to greet you at the airport.
If you are unable to contact your sponsor or Command, contact the Airman and Family Readiness Center, explain your situation and the A&FRC staff will contact your Command.
Sponsors sometimes experience difficulty and negative results when contacting inbound personnel from Technical Schools. If this applies to you, then it is recommended that you become proactive and aggressive in seeking your sponsor and assistance. If you have your sponsor's name try locating their official e-mail via the Air Force Global Address on an Air Force military network.
Stop by the Andersen Airman and Family Readiness Center at your earliest convenience so we can provide you assistance and information to make your move less stressful. The Airman and Family Readiness Center is located in Bldg. #22026, or more commonly known as "the bldg. next to the commissary".
The Loan Locker and PCS Child Care are available to ease your relocation. While you are waiting for your household goods to arrive, you may check out items from the Loan Locker. The Loan Locker has dishes, pots and pans, and other basic household items. PCS Child Care covers child care expenses at the Child and Youth Programs facilities on base for up to 20 hours per child. PCS Child Care needs to be utilized within the first 60 days of arrival. Please bring a copy of orders when visiting the A&FRC for these services.
If you get married while enroute to your next duty station, you must ensure your new spouse is added to DEERS as soon as possible. Inform your sponsor immediately to ensure your needs are addressed. Amendments to your orders must be requested via the nearest Air Force installation. If you arrive on Guam with your new spouse and your spouse is not on your orders, plan on paying out-of-pocket expenses until your gaining command approves Command Sponsor. Plan ahead to ensure a smooth transition into your new duty station.
