It’s likely that employment will change when a move occurs, especially for military spouses. The information below will provide you with employment assistance information and resources available such as SECO, MyCAA and MSEP Portals.
There are continuing vacancies available on Andersen Air Force Base, mostly federal or federal contract temporary, part-time, and full-time positions. For the most updated job listing, check out the USAJOBS and Military Morale, Welfare and Recreation Guam websites for non-appropriated fund positions. There are job opportunities available off the installation and most are entry level positions in the hospitality, tourism and medical sector.
The Andersen Airman and Family Readiness Center assists with creating and fine-tuning resumes – both federal and civilian – interview skills, job searches, career development, and offers computer resources.
Before you leave for Guam, make sure you have employer references with all certifications documented, a current resume and a fairly detailed employment history for the application forms.
Some required documentation may include a copy of official orders and/or a marriage certificate.
The Transition Assistance Program is located in the Airman & Family Readiness Center. "Click " on the "Relocation Assistance" located on the front page under "more information", for a synopsis of the Transition Office, office hours and location.
The Air Force Aid Society provides educational scholarships and grants to eligible military spouses and dependents. Check out its website www.afas.org

Guam does not have "Unemployment Benefits". Check with the state laws you are at prior to departing to verify eligibility for unemployment compensations. Some states will provide compensation for a short period for spouses PCSing into a state that does not have unemployment benefits.
There are continuing vacancies available on Andersen Air Force Base, mostly federal or federal contract positions that are temporary, part-time and full-time. While there are opportunities outside the base, unless special qualifications are required by the employer with commensurate compensation, most of the wages are at minimum level. Guam frequently experiences labor shortages. Much of the unemployment is driven by the cyclical nature of the hotel and visitor industry.
