The Military and Family Support Center is one part of a larger network of agencies, programs, services, partnerships and individuals that supports your personal and family readiness. The larger system called the Military Family Readiness System is a web of support for you and your family. The Military and Family Support Center should be one of your first stops once you arrive at a new installation. The programs and services they offer are a key resource for you and your family.

In addition to the programs above, the Fleet and Family Support Center at Naval Station Rota has an extensive support system which includes the following programs:
Licensed mental health clinicians and social workers provide individual, marital and family counseling to adults and children. Many of the programs offered are designed to respond to the problems that military members and their families experience in an overseas location.
The Family Advocacy Program is a Department of Defense line-managed, multidisciplinary program which addresses the prevention, education, intervention, assessment and treatment of spouse abuse, child physical and emotional abuse, child neglect and child sexual abuse. The Fleet and Family Support Center offers awareness and prevention programs to commands, child care providers, individuals, couples, families and community groups on issues of domestic violence, child abuse and neglect and child sexual abuse.
Intercultural Relations
Have you been assigned to Rota? Are you concerned about having to face the diversities of the new environment, differences in language, customs and values? Intercultural Relations conducts classes on culture specific information along with hands-on experience and cross-cultural training. ICR classes include topics such as history, geography, day-to-day living, cross-cultural training, self-awareness, stereotypes, perception, values, behaviors, beliefs and culture shock.
Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program
The goal of the sexual assault prevention and response program is to enable military readiness by establishing a culture free from sexual assault. The installation sexual assault response coordinator oversees a trained volunteer victim advocate network, available 24/7 via the SAPR hotline to provide information, guidance and support to victims of sexual assault.
RESTRICTED REPORTING: Enables victims to confidentially disclose the crime to specifically identified individuals and receive medical treatment, advocacy and counseling without triggering command notification and the official investigative process.

**Currently, the restricted reporting is available to active-duty service members and dependents who are 18 years of age and older.
UNRESTRICTED REPORTING: Official reporting channels resulting in command notification and triggering the official investigative process, in addition to having medical and advocacy services made available.
