Installation-specific Information
An overseas move represents a very significant stress encountered by personnel in the military today. As with any major change, it is normal to experience a period of adjustment beginning anywhere from three to six months before the move until about six to 12 months after. This adjustment usually occurs regardless of the number of prior moves you’ve experienced.
For a smoother move, start planning as soon as you find out you will be relocating. Set up an appointment with a Work and Family Life specialist at your FFSC, and contact your receiving command where you will be reporting. They can provide moving information, base and local information, and family needs information to military members and their families. Contact the command sponsor coordinator via email at usn.rota.navstarotasp.mbx.ffsc@us.navy.mil or call commercial 011-34-956-82-3232 or DSN 314-727-3232. For additional command information, visit the command website or the command Facebook.
Our Work and Family Life specialists offer one-on-one consultations and classes for those who desire a group setting. For a personal consultation, to sign up for a class or for more information, contact the Naval Station Rota FFSC.
