A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
The Youth Center provides a year-round program for youth from kindergarten-6th grade with desirable activities to occupy their leisure time.
The Youth Center provides special events, summer and holiday camps, trips and a Before and After School Program. Need Hourly care for your K-6th grader? Please call the Youth Center at 901-874-5155.
Summer Day Camp serves youth that have completed K-6th grade. Weekly fees currently range from $54 - $215, siblings receive a 20% discount. The enrollment process begins in mid-January via MilitaryChildCare.com. Please feel free to call to arrange a tour of the center. A QR code is available at the center which will allow access to MilitaryChildCare.com.
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and youth sports programs are available in the communities surrounding the base.
Youth Sponsorship Program- The Youth Center has partnered with the Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) to provide your youth or teen a sponsor if interested. Contact the FFSC at 901-874-5075 to request a sponsor.
Youth Employment/Volunteer Opportunities- Contact the FFSC for guidance and information on volunteer/career opportunities for youth. The major coordinating and training agency for youth volunteers is through the American Red Cross, which can be reached at 901-726-1690.
The Navy Mid-South Youth Center is located in building 936, next to the Child Development Center. The Teen Center, serving 7-12th graders is located next to the Youth Center, in building S-770. Learner Permit/Driver's License
Tennessee’s Graduated Driver License Program is a multi-tiered program designed to ease young drivers into full driving privileges as they become more mature and develop their driving skills. By requiring more supervised practice, the State of Tennessee hopes to save lives and prevent tragic injuries. It places certain restrictions on teens under the age of 18 who have learner permits and driver licenses. The program requires parent/legal guardian involvement, and emphasizes the importance of a good driving record.
