When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
In-processing paperwork may be obtained by calling 256-842-7091 or visiting HHC AMCOM, Building 3494 Honest John Road (One Stop).
Multiple copies of PCS orders, marriage license, school records, immunization records, immigration certificates, birth certificates, HHG inventory, travel documentation, passports, etc. as well as medical or dental records that may not be transferred by the military should be hand carried and placed in your carry on bag.
Ensure vaccination records are transferred to an Alabama blue card for school age kids. You may request a blue card at Fox Army Health Center or at the Madison County Health Department.
Temporary lodging reservations can be made by calling the IHG Army Hotel (Candlewood Suites) on Redstone Arsenal at 256-924-7707 or calling the Central Reservations System at 877-711-TEAM. IHG/Candlewood Suites is located at Building 3440 Aerobee Road. Active Duty and Civilians who have orders or are TDY have priority.
There are no barracks at Redstone Arsenal. There are numerous hotels in the Huntsville area. Always request a government rate. All incoming military personnel should report to the Housing Service Office, Building 3494, Honest John Road or call 256-876-6666 or DSN 746-6666 prior to making arrangements for off-post housing. Information on post quarters is available through Redstone Communities, Building 302, Hughes Road, or call 256-430-1517.
Military personnel and Department of Defense employees may request a sponsor from the gaining installation/organization. A sponsor serves as the welcoming link between new arrivals and the organization.
Whether you are Active Duty or a Department of Defense civilian employee, you may request a welcome packet by contacting Army Community Service at 256-876-5397. Packets can be tailored with additional information to better serve new personnel such as school information, employment information and more. Packets may be mailed out or sent digitally.
