Military spouses of all branches are encouraged to contact Military OneSource to inquire about the SpouseWorks program, formerally known as Spouse, Education & Career Opportunities. While not a hiring agency, the 24/7 program assists with employment support, such as resume writing, interviewing tips, career goal setting and information about area employers. SpouseWorks also assists with job searches within partnering agencies that give priority to active duty military spouses.
The State Employment Office Career Center is located at 2535 Sparkman Drive and can be reached by calling 256-851-0537. The Alabama State Employment Office job link provides information on available jobs in the area. The career center offers job search resources, training programs and, as appropriate, unemployment benefits.
