When planning for a move with the military, you might consider moving into government housing. Government housing is owned and maintained by the Department of War and is typically on the installation. Eligibility and availability for this type of housing may vary by service member, family size and installation. There are seven neighborhoods on the post with single-family, townhouse, and duplex-style homes. Homes include the following: carpeting and/or vinyl plank flooring, 24-hour emergency maintenance services, landscaping services, privacy fencing, washer and dryer hookups, energy efficient appliances, central AC and heat, garage or carport, high speed internet/cable ready, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, blinds, and more. Redstone Arsenal does allow certain pets, even some larger dogs, but there is a limit of two pets per home and certain breeds are restricted.
