Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. Please contact the Child and Youth Program point of contact at this installation if you require information, assistance or resources for child care in your local community.
Information for all Child and Youth Programs can be obtained by calling Child and Youth Services at 256-876-3704 or stop by building 3443 Aerobee Road in the Pershing Welcome Center.

After School Care is offered Monday through Friday, 2:30 to 6 p.m. Full day programs (camps and out of school days) is offered Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The School Age Center offers after school and hourly programs for K thru 5th grade during the school year. Activities include use of the homework center and computer lab. The framework for the SAC program includes the following areas: Sports & Fitness; Leisure & Recreation; Life Skills; and Mentoring and Support. A USDA approved afternoon snack is provided. The program is DOD certified and accredited, which symbolizes a commitment to quality school-age care. Bus transportation from local elementary and middle schools is available to the after school program. For availability of bus transportation, contact Child and Youth Services at 256-876-3704.
Goss and Mills Road CDC’s offer full-day care for children 6 weeks – 5 years of age. The center offers trained and dedicated staff who implement a curriculum containing age-appropriate activities. Patron fees are determined by the total family income as directed by the Army CYS Fee Policies and Guidance.
