The West Point CDC offers both full-day and hourly care for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. Part-day preschool is also available for 3 and 4 year olds. Phone: 845-938-3969/1362/4458. FCC homes offer a full range of hourly, full-day and part-day care.
The SAC program is designed to meet the specialized needs of children between kindergarten through fifth grade who are enrolled in school on a full-time basis. SAC is an enrichment and recreation program designed to supplement, not duplicate, school experiences. This program operates before and after school and on a full-time basis during school vacations. School age children who attend schools other than the West Point Elementary need to make their own arrangements for transportation to the program and full time care during vacations that may not be the same as those of the West Point Elementary school.
The computer lab and access to the Internet is available after participating in an orientation. Field trips, guest speakers and Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) partnerships (i.e. bowling, swimming, outdoor recreation) are all incorporated into the SAC program to deliver programming in the areas of leisure and recreation, sports and fitness and mentoring and support services.
The School Age Center is a nationally accredited program that offers a comprehensive supervised curriculum. The foundation of the SAC curriculum consists of four service areas:
Our 5,000 sq. ft. building has multiple classrooms geared to support learning and development as well a beautiful playground. Healthy food choices are planned by a nutritionist and served daily. In addition, we offer sports & fitness programs and a variety of clubs. The clubs generate from the interests of the children and change periodically for all to enjoy!
SAC Partnerships with 4-H, the Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA), and the Josephson Institute of Ethics Character Counts! Curriculum provides children with additional options and opportunities for enhanced program options. The SAC program is accredited through the Council on Accreditation, with a renewal date of 30 April 2019.
