Learn about the types of programs, guidelines and requirements for each school. There are four elementary schools, one middle school, and on high school on Fort Bliss property run by El Paso Independent School District. Personnel living off post should be aware that there are also ten other school districts in the El Paso area. El Paso, Socorro, Gadsden (NM), Ysleta, Canutillo, San Elizario, Clint, Anthony, Fabens, and Tornillo. Where you reside designates the school your children will attend. The El Paso Independent School District is the largest district and the one with the most military students in attendance. Educational Opportunities in the El Paso Area
The El Paso area offers a diverse range of educational opportunities to support the needs of military families arriving at Fort Bliss. These opportunities are provided by:
Nine public school districts in El Paso: Each district offers a unique set of academic programs and resources to support student success.One public school district in Gadsden, NM: For families living in the Gadsden area, this district provides access to quality education.
Established relationships with area school districts:
Fort Bliss has formal relationships with all nine El Paso school districts through the Secondary Education Transition Study (SETS) Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), established in 2001. This partnership ensures a smooth transition for military families and provides access to a range of academic opportunities.
School Assignment
A student's home school is determined by their residential address. However, opportunities exist for military families to attend other campuses based on space availability. To explore these options, contact the School Liaison Office at 915-569-5064 (7:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.).
Academic Opportunities
The El Paso area offers a wide range of academic programs, including:
Dual-credit programs: Allow students to earn both high school and college credits simultaneously.

School Districts and Boundaries
Fort Bliss is located within the El Paso Independent School District (EPISD) boundaries, with one high school, one middle school, and four elementary schools located on federal property.

Child Youth and School Services (CYSS) Facilities
CYSS facilities are conveniently located across from several elementary schools on post. Transportation to and from designated off-post schools is provided by CYSS to their facilities. To register your child and determine if this service is available at your school, contact Parent Central Services at 915-568-4374/568-4646 (7 a.m.-5 p.m.).
School Bus Transportation
All school districts in the El Paso area provide school bus transportation to students who:
Live two or more miles from their home school
Live on a Board-approved hazardous route
Are eligible special education students, as approved by an Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee
Attend special programs, such as Early College High School or magnet programs
This service is provided at no cost to students. Bus routes and any changes are reported at the school, and further information can be obtained by calling the district campus principal or designee. If a pupil transfer request is approved, the parent is responsible for the student's transportation.
Private, Parochial, and Homeschooling Options
El Paso is home to a variety of private, parochial, and charter schools that offer educational services at all grade levels, from PreK to 12. These options include:

Discipline Management Plans
All school districts in the El Paso and New Mexico area have a discipline management plan in place. At the beginning of each school year, all students and parents are given a code of conduct that outlines the expectations for behavior and the consequences for misbehavior.
