When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
JBLE– Langley
Should you arrive at Langley AFB during normal duty hours, 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, report directly to your gaining unit Commander's Support Staff (CSS). You will receive notification of the Newcomer Orientation schedule. Registration for Newcomer Orientation is required. Members can register by calling the Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) at 757-764-3990. Should you have any questions/concerns, please contact your CSS.
Newcomer Orientation includes a welcome and mission brief by the 633rd Air Base Wing Commander, information regarding various base agencies and medical in-processing. Newcomer Orientation is held from 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Attendees are JBLE and the surrounding area. Childcare is not provided on site.
If childcare is needed, visit the M&FRC with a copy of your orders and ask about Childcare for PCS. It is 20 hours of FREE childcare, per child, paid for by the Air Force Aid Society. You must have a voucher from the JBLE M&FRC to utilize this service. Vouchers can be used up to 60 days after arrival. *Childcare for PCS is only available to Air Force and Space Force members.
Personnel arriving after normal duty hours should report to the 24-hour Base Lodging Office, 44 Taylor Rd, Langley AFB, VA, 757-764-4667.
On the next duty day, report to your gaining unit. If you do not know where your unit is , report to the Customer Support Office located in the MPF, 45 Nealy Ave, Suite 218, Langley AFB, VA, 757-764-6420
Personnel must be in uniform during in-processing. Members must have several copies of their orders and all hand-carried records received from their previous base.
JBLE – Eustis
If you are permanent party arriving at Fort Eustis during normal duty hours 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, report directly to your unit. The unit will arrange the in-processing appointment.

Personnel must wear duty uniform during in-processing at Fort Eustis. Members must have their personnel records, all PCS orders, DA orders, DA Form 31, medical, dental, and financial records.
Newcomers Orientation: Soldiers with the ranks E1-E8, O1-O3, and W1-W2 are to attend. All other soldiers will receive a Virtual Newcomer’s Orientation. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend the monthly Uniquely Eustis Spouse Orientation held the last Thursday of the month at Army Community Service. The orientation offers essential information about the installation, community resources and programs beneficial to families. For more information, contact Army Community Service at 757-878-3638.
Personnel staff members at JBLE will need copies of your orders, leave form, military personnel file, medical records, dental records, and new addresses so they can update your military records, insurance, emergency data card and change of address card. The ID card will be checked, and a new one issued, if necessary
Uniforms: The year-round duty uniform for Soldiers at JBLE is the Army Combat Uniform (ACU) When reporting during duty hours, you must report in either ACUs or any authorized variation of the Army Service Uniform. After duty hours, you may report in civilian clothes.
JBLE- Langley
Call and make reservations for temporary lodging as early as possible. A statement of non-availability is required from the Langley Inns for reimbursement of off base lodging costs. Ensure you check in with the inns before booking off base lodging, or you will not be reimbursed for these costs.

JBLE - Eustis
The General Smalls Inn accepts reservations for eligible patrons including active-duty military, Department of Defense civilian employees, US military retirees, and members of the National Guard or Reserve (18 years or older). Family Members of the above groups, 18 years or older with a military/Government ID card are also eligible. Reservations are accepted 24/7. You may also fax your reservation request with a copy of your orders. Reservation availability is on a first come first served basis. Check-in time is 2 p.m. and check out is 11 a.m.
All Extended-stay rooms are furnished with a telephone, television, DVD player, high-speed internet access, a kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, sink, coffee maker, an iron and ironing board, single bath, and a queen size bed.

Family Members
All family members must be on the permanent change of station orders to receive reimbursement for their move. If you obtain any new family members through marriage, court order, birth, etc., before you arrive to JBLE-Langley, your command must update your orders with the new family members. This information must also be updated in Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).

All family members must be listed on your permanent change of station orders as “dependents” to receive reimbursement for costs incurred while transitioning to your new duty station. If your family status changes (ex. marriage, divorce, gained/lost custody of children, the birth or adoption of a child) during your PCS, your losing duty station is responsible for amending or updating your official PCS orders. Each family member must also be added to the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)
