If you need household items while awaiting your shipment of household goods, you can utilize the Loan Closet at Fort Eustis. Call 757-878-3638 for more information.
Both installations offer newcomers’ orientations.
Free child care is available for airmen at Langley through the Child Care for PCS program for 20 hours per child within 60 days of your arrival.
Resume-writing and federal employment classes are offered on a regular basis at both installations so, once your furniture is all arranged, call us to register if you will be looking for a job.
Individual financial education and planning is offered for unexpected expenses associated with relocation.
The Air Force Aid Society and Army Emergency Relief are available to assist with financial emergencies that may occur.
If you have an Exceptional Family Member with special medical or educational needs, we offer support services in helping you research on- and off-base resources, help link you with respite care and provide you with general information and referral services.
Families with children often have question about schools, and our school liaison officer can help you ensure the best education for them.

The Joint Base Langley-Eustis Military &Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) is the focal point for relocation assistance on Langley. Our goal is to provide accurate information and assistance to help all military personnel and their families make a smooth transition from one location to another. Be sure to make the M&FRC one of your first stops when you arrive. The JBLE M&FRC is located at 45 Nealy Ave., Building 15 (Mission Support Group Building), Wing B, Suite 100. Langley conducts a comprehensive newcomer briefing monthly (twice a month during peak PCS season). Please verify at your organization Command Support Staff or the orderly room. An appointment reminder and an area map will be provided. Newcomers’ orientation is held at the Riverview Event Center from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 pm. The Riverview Event Center is located at 128 Benedict Ave., Hampton, VA 23665. Attendees are provided with an introduction to JBLE and the surrounding area. Spouse attendance is encouraged. Child care is not provided on site.
Langley offers Child Care for PCS, which is sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society. The intention is to help relieve some of the stress felt by families in the process of a permanent change of station move. The AFAS will pay up to 20 hours of child care per child in certified family child care homes. Families with PCS orders are eligible to receive a certificate from the Langley M&FRC for use within 60 days of arrival or departure. Licensed care providers can be found on militarychildcare.com.
Fort Eustis
Newcomers’ orientation: Offered twice a month, it provides inbound soldiers and new Department of Defense civilian employees an opportunity to receive the latest and greatest information to assist with in-processing and settling into Fort Eustis. Call the ACS at 757-878-3638 for dates and times. The Orientation is held at Lakeside Center Building 828 Kells Drive, Fort Eustis.
Uniquely Eustis is an orientation designed just for spouses -- to welcome them and provide information on JBLE, to educate them on programs beneficial to military families and installation agencies that can provide assistance. Topics include spouse employment, school information, what to do in the area and much more. For new spouses to the installation, the intent is to make transition to Fort Eustis and or military life easier. For spouses who have been here but would still like to attend, this forum will be a way to obtain beneficial information, meet new people and integrate into the community. Uniquely Eustis is offered twice a month, an in person event the last Thursday of the month, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at ACS, 650 Monroe Ave and a virtual event. If your spouse will be looking for work once you get settled in, have him/her visit the ACS for employment assistance. The ACS can provide employment resources, financial education, resources on family care issues, deployment concerns and more. You are welcome to use our computers for job search, checking email, etc.
Home-buying and home-selling seminars are available on Langley Air Force Base and Fort Eustis. You will hear from local speakers from our community to discuss the real estate market, credit pre-qualification and mortgages, legal transactions and home inspections.
