It’s likely that employment will change when a move occurs, especially for military spouses. The information below will provide you with employment assistance information and resources available such as SECO, MyCAA and MSEP Portals.
For individual employment assistance for job opportunities on the installation and in the local community, contact the Langley Airman and Family Readiness Center. The A&FRC provides: resume assistance, employment resources, internet access and assistance and resource library. Classes are provided to assist with resumes and the federal job search. Individual appointments are available to assess needs, develop strategies and provide resources and referrals.
Access the following websites for employment opportunities on the installation: Federal Civil Service, Non Appropriated Fund, Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), and the Commissary (DeCA).
Military spouses be sure to ask about the Priority Placement Program for federal positions.
For information on the local job market, unemployment rates and job search resources you can access the Virginia Labor Market Information website and check out the Virginia Employment Commission, they are outstanding local resources.
Remember to hand carry all your employment records, resumes, SF 50, latest performance appraisal, transcripts, certificates and licenses as you relocate so that you can begin the job search process as possible.

If you are considering applying for unemployment benefits, contact your losing state's unemployment benefits representative for the appropriate paperwork. When you resign your position, include a statement to the effect that you are resigning to accompany your military spouse on his/her Permanent Change of Station.
