Check-in Procedures

Prior to your arrival, you're invited to tune in to Peterson Space Force Base M&RC's Pre-Arrival Brief. This is a virtual brief offered the third Tuesday of each month at 7 a.m. MTN, featuring subject matter experts from the Finance Office, Personal Financial Readiness, Military Housing Office, Child & Youth Services, School Liaison Office, the Exceptional Family Member Program, Medical Group, the Military & Family Readiness Center and more. During duty hours, the arrival point for all inbound active-duty military members, serviced by the Peterson SFB Military Personnel Flight, is the unit Commander Support Staff. If your unit does NOT have a CSS and it is within duty hours 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., report to the 21st Military Personnel Flight in Bldg. 350. For more detailed information on the hours and services provided by the MPF, please call 719-556-0008 or DSN: 834-0008.

Outside of normal duty hours, the arrival point for all inbound active-duty military members, serviced by the Peterson SFB MPF, is the Peterson Temporary Lodging Facility, Bldg. 1425. If inbound members report to the TLF, the member or his/her family member (if appropriate) will receive on-base quarters or a non-availability letter. In addition, by reporting to the Peterson TLF, the inbound member's travel time and permissive leave time (if appropriate) can be properly accounted for.

All inbound members are required to in-process with their unit, the installation Military Personnel Flight, and complete their PIP's travel voucher.

Any inbound member who has had no contact with his/her sponsor or gaining unit, please contact Customer Support at 719-556-0008, or you can contact the M&FRC at 719-556-6141. All inbound members should report to their unit CSS and be scheduled for the next available date to in-process at the MPS.

Reservations for temporary service accommodation must be secured with the local billetting office as far in advance as possible. Due to peak transit periods—specifically winter sports traffic and the influx surrounding the Air Force Academy graduation in early summer—room availability is exceptionally constrained. For all enquiries regarding on-base quartering, you must contact the housing office immediately to initiate your housing request.

Command Sponsorship

If family members are not explicitly detailed on your Permanent Change of Station orders, you will be personally liable for all associated transit expenses. Failure to secure this authorization may carry severe administrative and financial ramifications, including the suspension of entitlements for medical care, dental treatment, and official travel passports. Under no circumstances will these personal out-of-pocket costs be reimbursed by the department of War.

You must formally secure Command Sponsorship prior to commencing your PCS transit from any overseas assignment.

Should you marry prior to your permanent change of station or whilst en route, you are strictly required to notify your Commanding Officer and First Sergeant immediately and adhere precisely to the mandated administrative protocols. Be advised that the military will not underwrite or reimburse any travel, relocation, or housing allowances for your spouse if these formal procedures are bypassed or executed incorrectly.
