A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.

The R. P. Lee Youth Center is located at 100 Selfridge Street, Building 1555.
The Youth Center offers its military families an environment that is safe and secure for their children and is comprised of a variety of programs to include a School Age Program; Youth Sports; Pre-Teen and Teen Programs and Instructional Classes.
These programs follow the guidelines set forth by the United States Air Force; the Boys and Girls Club of America; National 4-H; National After-School Alliance; National Association of Education of Young Children and the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. Each program offers children the opportunity to participate in activities that are of interest to them while also providing a positive learning experience.
The Center offers ongoing activities for children 5 to 12 years old primarily. The Youth Center offers sports activities to a wider range of ages and is open to children ages 3 to 18-years-old. Some planned activities for our youth include:
On base, the Youth Center has a very active teen program that includes seminars, trips, special events and fundraisers.
Social/Recreational Programs
Mon - Thur from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., youth can participate in Power Hour, an education and homework assistance program, and in recreational youth sports and fitness programs.
Mon - Thur after 4:30 p.m., youth can participate in recreational activities such as video games, table games, and fine arts and crafts.
Teen Room
The Teen Room, for youth 13 - 18 years old, is located upstairs and down the hallway from the PreTeen Area. The Teens have access to computers, board games, pinball, video games, foosball, pool table, jukebox music, movies, a variety of crafting materials, social activities, and much more.

A Youth Recognition Ceremony is held every quarter to recognize youth who have participated in the Open Recreation Program throughout the year.

The most available employment for teens is fast food restaurants, tourist attractions and retail sales. Information on youth summer programs is available at the Airman and Family Readiness Center's Employment Resource Room or by contacting the Employment Manager.
It's not easy to move to a new area and feel at home right away. It takes time to learn about a new area and to make friends. To help you find out about Colorado Springs and Peterson SFB, the Youth Center will assign a pen pal to you. If you would like to receive a personal letter from a pen pal, send us the following information:
