The Peterson Space Force Base Legal Office provides assistance in the following areas:

Legal Assistance

Provides consultation for child support, divorce, financial issues, wills (including living wills and health care powers of attorney) and other private personal civil legal matters. Please call 719-556-4871/567-5050 or email P_SGAR.JA@us.af.mil to schedule an appointment. 

All active-duty members, dependents entitled to ID card, reservists on Title 10 and ANG on Title 32 orders, and retirees are eligible for services. 

• Notary service: A notary public is available at the Legal Office. No appointment is necessary for notary service; just walk in within the posted time.
• Powers of attorney: You may obtain a power of attorney Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Only the grantor needs to be present. No appointment necessary.
• Affidavit of nonresidence for vehicle registration in Colorado: You may pick up this form between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or print the form from the El Paso County Department of Motor Vehicles website. You may either have it notarized by the Legal Office or you may have your commander sign the backside.
• Last will and testament: If you need a new will or simply want to update your existing will, go to https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil to complete the worksheet. Retain and email ticket numbers to P_SGAR.JA@us.af.mil with a request for an appointment. If you would like a living will or other medical related powers of attorney, the Legal Office can take care of this during the appointment for the last will and testament.
• The Victim/Witness Program: Is supported by an advocate in the Legal office and supports victims and/or witnesses of any crime.
