Health care services provided by the Defense Department are available to you and your family at your installation. We know that finding the right health care is important, especially in special circumstances such as emergency or during recent move. Here, you’ll find information and options about the services you have regarding healthcare.
Medical Services: The 21st Medical Group is an outpatient medical facility, which provides quality primary care to the Peterson/Schriever Air Force Base patient population. A new online medical system, MHS Genesis, started in April 2021. To learn more and create an account, go to www.health.mil/mhsgenesis. Some departments and questions are still answered by calling 719-526-2273 or 719-526-CARE.
Peterson/Schriever Air Force Base does not have emergency services available on base, however, there are a number of hospitals in the local area to include:
When you move, TRICARE moves with you. No matter where you go in the world, TRICARE is there before, during and when you get to your next duty station.

Filling prescriptions while traveling

Installation Specific Information
Medical services: The 21st Medical Group is an outpatient medical facility that provides quality primary care to the Peterson/Schriever SFB patient population. Medical appointments and services to include access to your medical records are now online at www.health.mil/mhsgenesis. Please read the "frequently asked questions" as it also has telephone numbers for assistance.
Peterson SFB does not have emergency services available on base; however, there are a number of hospitals in the local area, including Evans Community Hospital (Fort Carson), Penrose Hospital, and UCHealth memorial Hospital.
Ambulance service on Peterson SFB is provided by a civilian ambulance service. You should only call an ambulance when there is an emergency and transportation is needed. In on-base housing or on commercial phones, call 911; from official base phones, call 9-911.
Dental Care
The Peterson SFB Dental Clinic is located in Building 2018, 1045 Stewart Ave. and offers a full range of dental care for eligible active-duty personnel. After hours emergencies can call 719-333-5192. To schedule an appointment, call 719-556-1333. ;Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday is 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. All annual dental exams will consist of an exam and cleaning, and every effort will be made to have an exam and cleaning same day. These appointments are mandatory.
Pharmacy
The Peterson Main Clinic Pharmacy is located in building 959 and processes new prescriptions from Colorado Medical Treatment Facility providers (Peterson, USAFA, Evans, Schriever, and Buckley). The satellite pharmacy is located in building 2017 and processes prescriptions that originate from off-base. To contact the Main Clinic Pharmacy, call 719-556-1109, option 2. Prescription refill requests must be processed through the automated refill line: 719-430-7306, option 3 or by visiting MHS GENESIS Patient Portal and clicking “Rx Refills”.
