Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
The Airman and Family Readiness Center offers a variety of programs and services that alleviate stresses caused by family separation. These programs include quarterly deployed family events sponsored by various wing agencies and local businesses, loved one's picture on a pillowcase, and many other resources to help families stay connected.
Readiness briefings are offered every Monday at 1 p.m. and Welcome Home briefs are available at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays (appointment required). The readiness briefing is required for all service members who are deploying, going on a remote assignment or who will be temporary duty travel for greater than 31 days. Spouses are strongly encouraged to attend the Readiness Brief. Please call 719-556-6141 to sign up.
