Defense Service Network Dialing Instructions
The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of War. Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by world-wide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is unnecessary to dial the DSN 312 area code. When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included.
NAS Lemoore DSN prefix is 312-949-XXXX (OCONUS) or 949-XXXX (CONUS)
Mission Statement
Naval Air Station Lemoore is the home station for the Commander, Strike Fighter Wing Pacific and Commander, Joint Strike Fighter Wing, whose mission is combat-ready strike fighter squadrons trained to conduct carrier-based, all-weather, attack, fighter and support missions as required by the fleet tactical commander. CSFWP and CJSFW maintains close liaison with Commander, Naval Air Force, United States Pacific Fleet and embarked air wing commanders in the execution of this mission.
Vision Statement
Naval Air Station Lemoore is both a key player as the Navy’s largest master jet base and a pivotal player in the day-to-day life of California’s Central Valley. In all functions, we will strive to be the best, providing the highest quality service to the fleet, fighter and family for the absolute lowest cost to taxpayers.
This irreplaceable air station was commissioned in July 1961. This seemingly remote location was chosen based on two strategic factors: 1) the close proximity to the Navy’s seaport facilities allowing for logistical support, yet far enough away from major population centers to allow unencumbered flight operations and future infrastructure growth; 2) the flexibility in how the base could be built and expanded, because the lands surrounding the base were sparsely populated and used primarily for agriculture.
Today, NAS Lemoore is home to Commander Strike Fighter Wing Pacific and Commander Joint Strike Fighter Wing. More than half of the Navy’s F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft reside here, and it is the only Navy installation to house the F-35C Lightning II. NAS Lemoore hosts 16 operational Strike Fighter squadrons, two Fleet Replacement squadrons, one Search and Rescue squadron, and four west coast Carrier Air Wing Commands and staff. On average, 210,000 flight operations occur annually. Locals are proud to hear the “Sound of Freedom” daily. The base provides a massive boon to local economy. In Fiscal Year 2019, the base generated $947 million for Kings County and environs and provides almost 8,500 jobs. Whether you just received orders here, are ending your tour, are just visiting or have lived nearby all your life, NAS Lemoore is excited to share its patriotism and professionalism with you.
