If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
The American Red Cross is always available for emergency aid wherever you may be. Contact the nearest chapter, phone numbers are usually listed in the white pages of the local phone directory. They can sometimes help with emergency financial assistance and contacting individuals that will need to know where you are and what's happening. The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society can provide emergency financial assistance based upon need.
The American Red Cross can also help in times of emergency. Quick communications with home about family emergencies is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including verification of death or serious illness of immediate family, birth announcements to fathers deployed overseas, and health and welfare reports resulting from a lack of communication over a long period of time.Categories of financial assistance include:
Service members should contact Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society for an evaluation of their situation.The chapel onboard the air station maintains a food locker for emergencies. All they ask is when the service member gets back on their feet they replenish the supply!
The Navy Marine Corps Relief Society is a worldwide nonprofit charitable organization designed to provide financial, educational and other assistance to the members of the Naval or Marine Services of the United States, eligible family members and survivors when in need.

No interest loans and grants available.
Emergency Leave: Death/illness of immediate family member or grandparent. Airline ticket can be booked with our travel agent. Leave papers must be approved prior to assistance.
COVID -19 Rapid Response Loan: Up to $1500, no budget for immediate needs such as rent, car repair, groceries. Amount requested verified. Expiration term of service/ end of active obligated service that is five months or later on Leave and Earnings Statement required.
Budget For Baby®: Now In Person! Educational workshop on the financial impact of having a baby. Participants receive a hand knit blanket, NMCRS tote, resource booklet and a $50 gift card for attending. Call or email the office today to sign up! Lemoore@nmcrs.org

Education Assistance:
INTEREST FREE LOANS AND GRANTS
The Society’s Education Assistance Program offers interest-free loans and grants for undergraduate or master's degree at an accredited two- or four-year post-secondary, technical or vocational institution in the United States. This financial assistance is available for children of active duty, retired or deceased sailors
and Marines; and for spouses of active duty and retired sailors and Marines.
Eligibility Requirements --
Applicants MUST be one of the following:
Volunteerism: Volunteers have been the backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society for more than 100 years. They make up more than 90% of our workforce. Volunteers make it possible for our donated funds to directly assist sailors, Marines and their families. Make a difference and be a Society Volunteer (reimbursement for mileage and child care).
