Naval Air Station Lemoore is located in Kings County in the San Joaquin Valley. There are over fifty schools within the 13 public school districts in Kings County, several of which are charter schools. Online public schools are also available. Private schools can be found in both Lemoore and Hanford.
In California, students in public schools must meet residency requirements to enroll, with the exception of some public charter schools. Attendance at a public school outside of residential boundaries, may be approved through the inter-district or intra-district transfer option if offered by the school of residence.
A child of an Active Duty Service Member is automatically released from the home district during the inter-district transfer process. California (Education Code 48301 f) prevents any public school district who participates in the inter-district transfer process from denying the release of a student whose parent is an Active Duty Service Member. The transfer student still needs to be accepted by the receiving school.
Each public charter, magnet and specialty school has its own enrollment process. Schools that require applications can begin taking applications as early as 10 months in advance of the next school year.
Links to the 13 school districts in Kings County can be found on the Kings County Office of Education web site. The NAS Lemoore School Liaison Officer can provide additional resources to assist families who are relocating to NAS Lemoore and the surrounding area.
There are no DoD schools at Naval Air Station Lemoore. The two public schools on the installation belong to: R.J. Neutra (TK-5th), and Akers, (K-8th).There are many other elementary and middle schools throughout Kings County offering a wide range of programs including: student council, band, and sports programs in certain grades.

Lemoore High School is a comprehensive high school offering an extensive variety of advanced placement, honors, and college prep courses, as well as a broad choice of vocational education courses. Lemoore Middle College High School is a charter school available to students through an application process. Lemoore Middle College High School is a collaborative effort between the Lemoore Union High School District and West Hills College Lemoore offering a college preparatory program designed to provide challenging and meaningful learning experiences for students in a nontraditional high school setting on the West Hills College Lemoore campus.
Students living in Lemoore also attend Lemoore High School or Lemoore Middle College High School and Hanford residents attend one of the high schools in the Hanford Joint Union High School District.
