Policies and rules for shipping pets vary at each installation. It’s important to understand the regulations, prohibitions and laws at your new installation before moving with a pet. Below, you’ll find installation-specific details for registering, boarding and transporting your pet.

All pets residing on base, as well as in the local community, must posses a current license from the Kings County, for more information visit Kings County Animal Services. The Animal Control Division of the Kings County Government Office is responsible for licensing pets in our area current requirments for liscensing are proof of an up-to-date rabies vaccine.
If you live outside Kings County, contact your local county government for registration.
There is no quarantine period for pets arriving from overseas locations as long as the owner provides the following:
Relocation With Your Pet
Moving with your pet includes researching airline requirements and quarantine restriction laws in your new location. Many airlines have requirements for size, weight, breed, number of animals, kennel construction, documentation and seasonal limitations. Small pets may be shipped on military flights, but availability and regulations frequently change. Contact your installation household goods/transportation office to request specific country instructions. The NAS Lemoore Veterinary Treatment Facility (VTF)
VTF Hours: Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Closed 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch)
NAS VTF offers basic veterinary services for eligible members of the military community including active duty military and retirees. The VTF is staffed by an active duty Army veterinarian, so calling ahead for appointments is necessary, as availability varies according to their other active duty obligations. Pets must be registered to receive services. Registration is free and does not require an appointment. Pets being used for profit, including breeding, racing, etc., are not eligible for services. The VTF does not provide boarding services.Available services include:
Horse stables are available on base through Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). Additional information about required vaccinations, paperwork, and quarantine procedures can be obtained by contacting the stables.
Pet Friendly Hotels
Many veterinary clinics, boarding facilities, grooming services, and emergency clinics are available in the area for your pet, if necessary. A list of available facilities can be obtained from the front desk at the Lemoore NAS VTF. Make sure to call any boarding or grooming facilities ahead of time as they generally have vaccination requirements that must be met. It is a good idea to make advanced reservations for pet boarding, especially during the holidays and summer when many people are moving or on vacation.
