Fort Riley Overview

The 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley build and maintain combat-ready forces and deploy these forces in an expeditionary manner to conduct Decisive Action to fight and win in complex environments as members of a Joint, Inter-organizational, and Multinational (JIM) team.

Fort Riley, is an Installation of Excellence, working in close partnership with local, regional and state communities to provide trained and ready forces to meet Joint Force requirements across the full spectrum of current and future operations.  Fort Riley manages and maintains unit readiness as directed by the Army Campaign Plan, executes unit re-stationing as directed by FORSCOM, executes garrison operations as directed by Installation Management Command, and conducts homeland defense operations and supports civil authorities.

It is a great place to Live, Train, Deploy from, and Come Home To and Retire at.  No Mission to Difficult, No Sacrifice to Great, Duty First, Service Always! 

Critical Information

• A Soldier that has a Family member with exceptional needs (medical, educational, gifted, etc.) needs to contact Fort Riley's Army Community Service at 785-239-9435 and speak with the Exceptional Family Member Coordinator (prior to departure if possible).
• Personal firearms are not authorized on this installation without prior registration.  Registration can be completed at the Access Control Center or the Military Police Station questions pertaining to registering a firearm (785) 239-6767.
• All in-processing Service members must sign in at the 1st Replacement Company (except for the following units: MEDDAC, DENTAC, CID, 3d/75th Brigade and mobilized reservists).
• 1st Replacement Company is on Main Post and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays.
• ID Card Center/DEERS is located in Building 210.
• Cell phone usage is not authorized while operating a motor vehicle on this installation. Only hands free devices.  
• All Soldiers arriving to Fort Riley who are single will reside in the 1st Replacement Barracks.  
• All Soldiers reporting with family members will sign-in and be released to report back at for the next day's first formation.  All personnel reporting with families should make hotel reservations immediately regardless if you are planning on going straight into housing.  This is to ensure when you arrive at least you have a place to stay just in case there is something wrong with your home or apartment and you cannot move in immediately as planned.
