Library programs differ by branch of service. You may have access to things like tutoring, educational courses, online programs and a variety of print and electronic materials. Hours, contact information and closings can be found here or by calling your installation’s library.
Get to know the Army general libraries. You will find something for soldiers and families in all locations and military stages. There are 62 libraries across seven countries with physical collections in all formats. They support professional, educational and recreational reading.
Installation libraries play an important role for soldiers. They offer technical publications to support job requirements and career development. Soldiers can earn college degrees and certifications, update promotion packages, prepare for transition or retirement and more. Computers are available for completing training or personal education.
These libraries are also a “community couch” with programming, study and meeting spaces. There is something for everyone, including book clubs, story times and walks, game and movie nights. A themed summer reading program provides family fun. Evening and weekend hours accommodate busy schedules.
Makerspaces are now available in many Army libraries. All ages can explore and enjoy science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.
Soldiers and their dependents who are deployed or in remote locations can use the Army MWR Library Online. It offers a wide variety of electronic databases and downloadable content. Contact your installation library for questions about registration. If you’re not near an installation library, contact usarmy.mwr.library@mail.mil.
All Defense Department service members and their families can also use the online DOD MWR Libraries. The libraries have a wide range of online resources for children and adults. Access free tutoring, finance and language classes, career transition assistance, car care advice, legal forms and much more. Visit Military OneSource today to see what the DOD MWR Libraries can do for you and your family.

Warrior Adventure Quest
Warrior Adventure Quest (WAQ) is an Army RESET training tool designed to introduce Soldiers to activities that serve as alternatives to aberrant behaviors often associated with accidents involving recently re-deployed Soldiers. This tool presents coping outlets to help Soldiers realize their own new level of normal after deployment and "move on" with their lives.
WAQ combines existing MWR Outdoor Recreation high adventure activities (e.g. rock climbing, mountain biking, paintball, ropes courses, skiing, zip lines, kayaking, and others) with a leader-led after action debriefing (L-LAAD) tool developed by Army Medical Department (AMEDD) center and school.

SPORTS AND FITNESS
Mission Essential Fitness
Simply put, Mission Essential Fitness is the training required to condition Soldiers to perform their mission, in Garrison as well as any operational environment.
A U.S. Army Soldier is required to have a high level of fitness, capable of performing a multitude of physical tasks, involving power, strength, speed, and agility. Mission Essential Fitness incorporates all of these fitness components to train Soldiers as tactical athletes both aerobically and anaerobically.
Mission Essential fitness builds physical readiness and resiliency by providing Soldiers with functional training for the tactical athlete.
Training goals vary throughout the year and, with that, so do the training routines offered. Routines are scalable to fit any fitness level.

Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) is a dynamic Department of the Army program. Participants enhance their quality of life, contribute to their community through community service activities, and assist in the planning and execution of their own recreation and leisure events.
BOSS makes a difference by volunteering in community projects and events. This is always voluntary in nature, and Soldiers find this to be personally rewarding.
Fun activities are planned by the BOSS council working in conjunction with the Family and MWR Advisor and Command Sergeant Major. These events are geared towards the desires of the Single Soldiers on that installation.
