A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good. This program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.
Items may be borrowed for 45 days. Extension of the lending period may be granted for special circumstances. You must call or come into ACS to request an extension. Items are available on a first come, first served basis and some items may not be available during times of high PCS volume. Visit ACS, building 7464 Normandy Drive Fort Riley KS. Bring your I.D. card and orders. For more information, call the ACS at 785-239-9435. Lending Closet hours are Monday -Friday 8am - 3:30 pm, Closed Weekends and Holidays.
All items must be returned in clean, working condition by the due date. If items are not returned the chain of command will be contacted for assistance. All items must be returned in order for the Service member to clear Fort Riley when the time comes.
The Fort Riley Thrift Shop is located on Main Post on Stuart Avenue, Bldg. 267 on Fort Riley Kansas. They offer a variety of products like pet supplies, clothing, furniture, household goods, etc. The store is open to the public, civilian and military personnel are welcome. Hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Junction City
Food Pantry of Geary County is located on 136 West Third Street Junction City KS. The Food Pantry provides food to those families and individuals who are in need and meet the qualifications, especially the elderly, the military, and families with small children. It also provides food in emergency situations.

Flint Hills Breadbasket
Mission: To minimize hunger and poverty through the distribution of available food and to nurture projects that will help alleviate hunger and poverty.
Hunger is an oftentimes invisible tragedy. Since 1983, the Flint Hills Breadbasket has been collecting and distributing donations and food to ensure that no one in the community goes hungry.
The Flint Hills Breadbasket is located at 905 Yuma Street Manhattan KS. The Flint Hills Breadbasket is a Community Food Network founded in 1982 in a small shed in which the City of Manhattan housed machinery. Since then we have grown but continue to offer much needed food to those in need through community donations and volunteer support. Hunger is oftentimes an invisible tragedy, and for thirty-two years the Flint Hills Breadbasket has been collecting and distributing food to ensure that no one in the community goes hungry.
