When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
All soldiers reporting to Fort Riley with questions pertaining to the Exception to Policy Memo, Quarantine Policy, Restriction of Movement Policy, should contact their sponsor or gaining unit. The Fort Riley website COVID FAQ's page also has updated information. You can call 785-239-5739 or 785-239-8332 for assistance. If you are an advanced individual training soldier and have not spoken to or emailed with your gaining sponsor at Fort Riley, call 785-340-2875 or 785-239-5739 and we will ensure you get in touch with your sponsor immediately.
All in-processing soldiers must sign into the installation through the staff duty desk located in Building 208 on Custer Avenue (Main Post). If a soldier has a preapproved permissive temporary duty for house hunting, the soldier will visit the housing office (Building 217, day prior or start day of PTDY), stamp and complete PTDY prior to signing into the installation. PTDY will NOT be backdated and could be counted as ordinary leave. When signing in, a soldier needs a copy of their DA31 signed out by losing unit, three copies of orders, and medical and dental records. The in-processing staff duty desk is manned 24/7. Soldiers needing PTDY for house hunting may be approved during in-processing at 1st Replacement Company. Ten days of PTDY are allowed, however, once housing is signed for by the soldier, the soldier must report back to 1st Replacement to complete in-processing.
- If arriving via air and landing in Manhattan (MCI), Wichita (ICT) or Kansas City (KCI) airports and needing transportation, please call the 1st Replacement staff duty desk at 785-239-2119. 1st Replacement staff duty is authorized to pick up and transport soldiers during a PCS move.
- In-processing Fort Riley will take five to eight working days to complete. Sgt. 1st Class and above will in-process on their own timeline through 1st Replacement. Staff Sgt. and below will be placed in platoons at 1st Replacement for in-processing.
Single soldiers or geographical bachelors will be housed in 1st Replacement Barracks until they ship to their gaining unit. Soldiers will need full physical training uniform and Army combat uniform (ACU or operational camouflage pattern ACUs) being the duty uniform.
- For additional information, request an extension on the PCS leave form (must not exceed orders report date), or for assistance, contact 1st Replacement Company at 785-239-2119, 785-239-8302, or 785-239-8332, DSN 312-856-2119/ 8302.
