When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
All Soldiers reporting to Fort Riley with questions pertaining to the Exception to Policy Memo (ETP), Quarantine Policy, Restriction of Movement Policy (ROM), should contact their sponsor or gaining unit. If you are an AIT Soldier and have not spoken to or emailed with your gaining sponsor at Fort Riley call (785) 340-2875 or (785) 239-5739 and we will ensure you get in touch with your sponsor immediately.
All in-processing Soldiers must sign into the installation through the Staff Duty desk located in BLDG 208 on Custer Avenue (Main Post). If a Soldier has a pre-approved PTDY for house hunting, the Soldier will visit the Housing Office (BLDG 217, day prior or start day of PTDY) stamp and complete PTDY prior to signing into the installation. PTDY will NOT be backed dated and could be counted as ordinary leave. When signing in, a Soldier needs a copy of their DA31 signed out by losing unit, three (3) copies of orders, and medical and dental records. The in-processing Staff Duty desk is manned 24/7. Soldiers needing PTDY for house hunting may be approved during in-processing at 1st Replacement Company. Ten days of PTDY are allowed, however, once housing is signed for by the Soldier, the Soldier must report back to 1st Replacement to complete in-processing.
-If arriving via air landing in Manhattan (MCI), Wichita (ICT), or Kansas City (KCI) airports and need transportation, please call the 1st Replacement Staff Duty Desk at 785-239-2119. 1st Replacement Staff Duty is authorized to pick up and transport Soldiers during a PCS move.
-In-processing Fort Riley will take 5 - 8 working days to complete. SFC and above will in-process on their own timeline through 1st Replacement. SSG's and below will be placed in Platoons at 1st Replacement for in-processing.
Single Soldiers or geographical bachelors will be housed in 1st Replacement Barracks until they ship to their gaining unit. Soldiers will need full PT uniform and ACU (ACU or OCP ACUs) being the duty uniform.

Documents to be hand carried:
DA FM 31 --PCS Leave form signed by losing unit
Copies of PCS Orders
Medical, Dental and shot records.
Birth Certificates, marriage license, divorce decrees and legal adoption documents if applicable
Military Personnel Records / MPRJ.
If married en route, a Soldier needs the original marriage certificate and a copy of the spouse's driver's/identification card.
Make hotel reservations prior to arriving at Fort Riley just in case housing is not ready on the date of arrival or any number of issues arise the Candlewood Suites Hotel is the only hotel on Fort Riley.
