New London - Youth Center

Our Youth Recreation Program is open to children aged 9 through 12, while our Teen Program serves youth ages 13 through 18. Both programs provide a variety of opportunities for youth to engage in activities such as the arts, health & life skills, sports, fitness & recreation, character and leadership development, education, career development, field trips, special events, and community service throughout the year.

Our programs offer youth the opportunity to participate in the arts, health & life skills, sports, fitness & recreation activities, character and leadership development, education, career development, field trips, special events, and community service. In collaboration with other youth-serving organizations, such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and USDA 4-H programs.

New London – School Liaison Program

School Liaisons are located at each installation, and are the contact for military families, local school systems, and installation leadership for school-related matters, Kindergarten to grade 12. School Liaisons are experienced professionals who support, advise, and build partnerships with both civilian and military communities to help address common educational challenges for military families.

New London - Child Development Center (CDC)

Childcare for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years; NAEYC accredited.

The Child Development Center program is led by qualified professionals in Early Childhood Education, whose major goal is to promote your child's growth and development in a nurturing environment through meaningful learning experiences. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate, keeping in mind the specific needs of each individual child. Activities are planned, however these plans are flexible depending on the daily interests and needs of the children. Children are invited and encouraged to participate in individual and group activities designed to promote social, emotional, intellectual (cognitive), and physical development. Child Development Centers is a facility-based program that provides childcare services for infants through preschool (6 weeks to 5 years of age; hours: Monday to Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Weekends & Holidays: Closed. NOTE: This program provides full-day care.

Programs Offered: Full-time, and hourly ($8 per hour) child care services are available. Hourly care is offered when space is available at a fee reasonable fee.

Costs: Fees are due on the 1st and 15th of each month and range between $121.33 to $485.33 depending on total family income. Contractors fees range from $736.67 depending on total family income. A 20% discount is offered for the eldest child when two or more children are enrolled for care. Hourly rate is $8 per hour for each child. Late charges are $2 per 15 minutes or any fraction thereof. NOTE: fees are subsidize , and will go according to your income.

SUBASE New London's School Age Care (SAC)

Kindergarten through 12 years of age, Council on Accreditation (COA-accredited).

A before and after school care program for school-age children, in grades Kindergarten through 12 years of age. Offers before- and after-school care, during professional development days and vacation weeks, and full-day summer camp care. 860-448-6843, 29 Hickory Dr. Bldg. 905 Groton, CT 06340.

SAC serves the following schools: Groton Middle School, Northeast Academy, RMMS (for Groton residents only), Thames River, Mystic River, Winthrop, Nathan Hale, Catherine Kolnaski, Sacred Heart, and Charles Barnum.

Hourly care is available at the Youth Center. The cost is $8 per hour per child; minimum two hours. Hourly care can be used any time during the week including no-school days that the Youth Center is still open. Registration is required. Call for more details.
