NSB New London Morale, Welfare, and Recreation facilities

Naval Submarine Base New London's MWR in Groton, CT, provides active-duty service members, retirees, and their families with comprehensive recreational, fitness, and entertainment options. Key amenities include multiple fitness centers, a bowling alley, discount ticket services, an auto hobby shop, and seasonal outdoor aquatic facilities.

Fitness & Sports 

The base offers robust fitness programs designed for both combat readiness and personal health:

Entertainment & Leisure

SUBASE Bowling Lanes (Bldg. 485): A 12-lane alley offering rock-and-glow bowling, arcade games, and an internet jukebox. They frequently feature specials like ($2) games on Sundays. Phone: 860-694-3477

Library, Tickets & Information (Bldg. 164): Located in the Dealey Center, this combined facility offers thousands of books, DVDs, and video games. You can also purchase heavily discounted tickets here for Regal Cinemas, Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and other regional attractions. Phone: 860-694-3723

North Lake Recreation Facility: (Triton Avenue) The "cool" spot on base to escape the summer heat. It typically opens daily in mid-June through Labor Day, featuring swimming and water recreation. Phone: 860-694-3562

Automotive & Outdoor Recreation

Auto Hobby Shop (Bldg. 460): Fully equipped with lifts and tools for DIY vehicle maintenance, tire balancing, and repairs. Phone: 860-694-3582

Youth & Family Services

Youth & Teen Center (Bldg. 905): Serving youth ages 9-18, this affiliate of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America offers a game room, gymnasium, technology room, and organized field trips Phone: 860-448-6843

Fleet and Family Support Center is your one-stop-shop for free Information and Referral sources, and many more programs such as Relocation assistance, Deployment support, Transition and Employment assistance, Financial programs, Exceptional Family Member Support, Parenting and Life Skill programs, Counseling and Victim Assistance, with the intentions to promote a higher quality of life for Service Members and their families. The Fleet and Family Support Center of NSB New London is one part of a larger network of agencies, and should be one of your first stops once you arrive at your new installation. The FFSC offers an array of professional support services split across essential readiness pillars:

• Work & Family Life: Includes personal financial management counseling (budgeting, investing, and retirement), transition assistance, employment readiness for spouses, and relocation assistance.
• Deployment Support: Delivers pre-deployment briefings, return-and-reintegration programs, and command ombudsman support to help families navigate underway and deployments.
• Counseling & Advocacy: Offers confidential clinical counseling for individuals, couples, and families, alongside the Family Advocacy Program for domestic safety and the New Parent Support Program.
• Crisis & Response Support: Coordinates the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program with 24/7 victim advocacy access.
• Exceptional Family Member Program: Provides resources, local case liaison networking, and navigation assistance for families with special educational or medical needs.
• Lending Locker: Supplies temporary household goods (such as kitchen items) for families waiting for their household goods to arrive.
