The Lending Locker is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially when waiting for their household goods delivery after a move. This program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.
The Lending Locker hospitality kits are available to anyone who is making a permanent change of station move to or from Naval Submarine Base New London. The kit contains dishes, flatware, glasses, and cookware (pots, pans, and baking dishes), enough to meet the needs of a family of four. Slightly smaller or larger kits are available. Other items available are high chairs, clock radios, vacuums, etc. It won't be bone china, Calphalon or plush bedding, but it will get you by until your own household goods are delivered or you hit the road for the next duty station.
Our Lending Locker is available to active-duty service members and their families for an initial 14-day period. A loan agreement must be filled out by the service member or their spouse and they must present a valid identification card at the time of the initial request. The loan may be extended to a 30-day period if needed. Should delivery of your personal property be delayed beyond one month, you can extend the Lending Locker items for another 30 days.
