Temporary Lodging Facility

Before arranging any off-base commercial lodging, All military members and DoW personnel PCSing or traveling to NSB New London (Groton, CT) must check into Navy Gateway Inns & Suites or the Combined Bachelor Quarters prior to making any temporary lodging arrangements. If is at capacity and you’re unable to secure official lodging, you will be able obtain a Certificate of Non-Availability to book off-base accommodation without penalty.

Why this is required?
Service members on official orders must check with NGIS first to secure accommodations. If NGIS is at capacity, they will assist with alternate arrangements or issue a Certificate of Non-Availability. Securing a CNA is required to authorize alternative approved temporary lodging and guarantee Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) reimbursement

Checking In After Hours

If you arrive at NSB New London outside of standard business hours, you should report directly to the NGIS front desk in Building 429. If your specific command requires a Command Duty Officer.

You are entitled to Military Family Housing if you are active-duty and have authorized dependents residing with you. All units are assigned to comply with the bedroom criteria published in housing instructions; however, there may be a waiting list for family housing, depending on family composition. The wait times vary, so call the Housing Welcome Center for updated information.

• Navy Gateway Inns and Suites: Each private room has its own bath, flat-screen TV with cable, phone, clock radio, iron and ironing board, Keurig coffee maker, micro fridge and hair dryer are norm at this installation. • Navy Lodge: The lodge is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Each unit can support a family of five and arrangements for two units, side-by-side may be made. Each unit is equipped with a kitchenette, which includes a two-burner stove and all kitchen essentials. First priority is for Navy and Marine Corps personnel with families arriving or departing on PCS orders. The Navy Lodge will allow up to two pets in cages not to exceed 50 pounds each.
