If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
Emergencies are unforeseen circumstances that call for immediate action. To assist at these times of high stress there are agencies on and off-base that can either assist or refer you to the appropriate office. A Duty Chaplain is on call 24 hours a day for emergency situations. Call the Schriever Airman and Family Readiness Center 719-567-3920 Military and Family Life Counseling program during duty hours 719-225-6003. Call during duty hours and contact the Command Post at 719-567-2180 DSN 312-560-2180 after duty hours. For emergency financial assistance call the Schriever A&FRC Financial Readiness Counselor 719-567-3920. Call American Red Cross for any Emergency assistance 877-272-7337.
Make sure that you carry important papers with you so that you can contact your unit sponsor Air Force Aid and/or American Red Cross.
Important documents
The most important items to keep with you during a permanent change of station are your vital documents. Check off each item in this list and make multiple copies of them in case you misplace one along the way. Don't just rely on electronic copies either make physical copies.

No matter how well you've planned emergencies do happen. In case of emergency contact the nearest American Red Cross office at 877-272-7337 who will contact your commander or first sergeant for you.
