Legal Assistance

The base Legal Office provides legal support for installation members and dependents.

Legal services include special and general powers of attorney, wills, domestic relations and support issues, landlord-tenant issues, real property, consumer protection, debt collectors and the Service Members Civil Relief Act.

The Legal Office is located in Building 210, Room 116. Legal assistance hours are by appointment only. Wills by are by appointment only. Powers of attorney and notary services are available during walk-in hours from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The Legal Assistance Office at Schriever Space Force Base includes:

• Legal assistance (such as reviewing Veterans Administration contracts for the purchase of a home, advice on domestic problems such as divorce and separation, and assistance in matters involving the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act)
• Wills
• Notary service
• Powers of attorney
• Assistance with household goods claims
• The base Legal Assistance Office is responsible for preparing, compiling and reporting all military justice actions to include Article 15 non-judicial punishment and court-martial actions.
• Responsibility for ensuring the adequacy of the installation Victim-Witness Program

The legal assistance office only aids service member’s, dependents, and retirees with previously forementioned legal services i.e. notaries, powers of attorney, wills, claims, etc.  Military justice actions to include the Victim-Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) are handled by a separate section in the legal office. We have three sections in total (Leadership, Military Justice, and Civil Law).  Our civil law section handles legal assistance.

Wills are by appointment only. Clients must first go to https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil/ to complete the will worksheet. Once the ticket number has been received, send the ticket number, DoD number and status (i.e. Active Duty, Retired, Dependent, Reservist on Title 10 orders) to the workflow box, SBD_1.ja.wf@spaceforce.mil and call 719-567-6031 to schedule an appointment.
