Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. The Child Development Center, Bldg. 60, offers childcare for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The center is closed weekends and all federal holidays. Meals and snacks to include infant formula meet USDA food guidelines and are offered throughout the day. The cost for full-time childcare is based on total family income.
There is one NAEYC accredited Child Development Center on base offering weekly care. The Child Development Center offers an age-appropriate curriculum, Early learning Matters (ELM). The daily schedules are designed to offer a balance of structure, free choice, active and quiet times, as well as the opportunity to be an individual.
