Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. The Child Development Center, Bldg. 60, offers child care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The center is closed weekends and all federal holidays. Meals and snacks to include infant formula meet USDA food guidelines and are offered throughout the day. The cost for full-time child care is based on total family income. Hourly care is available depending on space availability. For additional information call 567-4742.
The School Age Program, Bldg. 60, offers care for youth kindergarten to 12 years. The hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program is closed weekends and all federal holidays. Meals and snacks meet USDA food guidelines and are offered throughout the day. The cost for care is based on total family income. Hourly care is available depending on space availability. The program participates in field trips throughout the year and a variety of summer camps to include curriculum areas such as science, drama, and music. There is one Child Development Center on base offering weekly and hourly care. The Child Development Center offers a developmental curriculum. The daily schedules are designed to offer a balance of structure, free choice, active and quiet times, as well as the opportunity to be an individual. Hourly care is offered on a space-available basis for children ages 12 months through five years. Reservations are recommended; however, children will be accepted if space is available. A minimum of two hours will be charged for all hourly care. The School aged program offers before and after school care, school break care and a summer camp for children in kindergarten through 12 years of age.
