Schriever Clinic

The 21st Medical Squadron is part of the 21st Medical Group at Peterson Space Force Base. The 21st MDS serves the community of Schriever SFB.

The 21st MDS is comprised of three flights: Dental Flight, Force Medical Operations Flight, and Operational Support Flight. The men and women of the 21st MDS optimize the health and performance of more than 8,500 Air Force and Space Force personnel assigned to Schriever SFB. The squadron supplies high-quality primary care, dental, aerospace medicine, pharmacy, medical and dental laboratory, mental health, radiology, bioenvironmental engineering, public health, and health promotion services.

How to make an Appointment

To make an appointment, call 719-524-CARE (2273).

We currently do not have the ability to book appointments through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. We apologize for any inconvenience.

You will need a referral for care your primary care manager does not provide, such as urgent, preventive, mental health, and specialty care. Find out more about how to obtain the necessary referral and authorization.

Patients have the right to make recommendations, ask questions, or file grievances with the military treatment facility Patient Advocate.

If concerns are not adequately resolved, patients have the right to contact The Joint Commission at 800-994-6610.

The Schriever clinic does not offer emergency medical treatment. In the event of a medical emergency, call 911 for immediate assistance.

When you move, TRICARE moves with you. No matter where you go in the world, TRICARE is there before, during and when you get to your next duty station.

There are steps you need to take to make sure changes to your TRICARE coverage go smoothly. Understand that when you move, you may have to use a different TRICARE option. Visit TRICARE Moving to learn more.

Before you move, you should take care of any routine medical needs, including immunizations, and fill your prescriptions so you have enough while traveling. If you need care during your move, visit TRICARE Getting Care When Traveling to learn what to do.

Filling prescriptions while traveling

You should refill prescriptions before traveling. But if you run out of a prescription drug while traveling, visit TRICARE Filling Prescriptions When Traveling.

Getting dental care while traveling

Getting dental care while traveling depends on your location and whether you are a service member or family member.

• If you are an active-duty service member within the United States or in U.S. territories, and near a military installation, you may be able to get emergency dental care at the dental treatment facility, or DTF, if available. If not, contact the TRICARE Active Duty Dental Care Program before you see a dentist and tell the contractor about your move. You will need to get an authorization before you see a dentist. The Active Duty Dental Care Program will work with you, so you can get care from a local network dentist.
• If you are an active-duty service member at an overseas location, call the TRICARE overseas regional call center to get authorization before you see a civilian dentist.
• If you are an active-duty family member within the United States, in U.S. territories or at an overseas location, you can find out if any nearby military dental treatment facility treats active-duty family members. If you're enrolled in the TRICARE dental program, call the TRICARE dental program contractor or visit their website to find a provider. You will need to get an authorization before you see the dentist.

Pharmacy

The pharmacy on Schriever is in Building 220. The pharmacy services Department of Defense personnel, retirees and their family members. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Dental services

The dental clinic is in Building 220. To schedule an appointment, call 719-567-5065. All annual dental exams consist of an exam and cleaning. These appointments are mandatory and you must give at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Peterson Space Force Base medical services

There is no emergency room at the 21^st Medical Group. The closest emergency medical facility is Saint Francis Hospital, located at 6001 East Woodmen Road, Colorado Springs, CO, 80923.There is one Military Treatment Facility in the Colorado Springs area that does offer emergency services: Fort Carson, which is located on the southwest side of Colorado Springs. In addition, the Colorado Springs community has both highly skilled medical professionals and facilities available.
