When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
If you arrive between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday report to your assigned Unit Commander's Support Staff with your personnel medical and dental records, copy of orders and your duty information to in-process. Once you have a permanent address please ensure Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System and Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance and SGLI Online Enrollment System are updated via milConnect as well as your Virtual Record of Emergency Data and personal contact information via Virtual Military Personnel Flight. If you get married before you permanent change of station or while en route you must report to the Military Personnel Flight Customer Support Section Building 381 with a copy of the marriage certificate, spouse's social security card and spouse's photo ID, driver's license or passport. Spouse must be present to issue a dependent ID card. Ask the DEERS technician to print a DD Form 1172. The DD Form 1172 will need to be turned into the MPF Force Management Section so the PCS order can be amended.
Note address on the amendment for the spouse should be the address the spouse resided at when the marriage occurred.
Note if marriage occurs after the member arrived to Travis no entitlements are authorized for the spouse so no amendment will be generated.
The following documents should be hand-carried when you PCS:
